Chloe's 10th Birthday Party......

Friday after school was PARTY day. Bob the bus driver was kind enough to drive the kids to our house (we normally have to pick them up about a mile down the road). Perhaps he had a plan....to QUIET the bus down a bit sooner!

Once all the girls arrived, Dillon was in heaven....no actually he probably knew he'd be getting "ditched" sooner or later.

We headed to the kitchen to start making ice cream sundaes. No cake at this party, just ice cream and lots of toppings. Each girl made and ate their own creation. They had lots of fun making them!

After that everyone got to paint a star pencil holder and a door knob hanger. We had lots of paint and decorations to glue on them. While we waited for the paint to dry Chloe opened her presents. After that the girls finished up their projects.

Then it was time to see the bedroom makeover! I think everyone loved Chloe's new bedroom.

Finally, Mario Kart on the Wii, computer games and the girls played upstairs.

Finally, Ten years ago today....

Ten years ago today we were finally holding our first born daughter, Chloe Jordan.....

Ten years later....

we're celebrating her 10th birthday.

For Chloe's birthday we gave her a bedroom make over. She picked her bed spread, curtains, etc. and I did the painting. We think it came out great!

10 years ago continued...

Ten years ago today (4am to be exact) my water broke.

Ten years ago today I was in Hell.....hard labor had started after 8 hours of induction.

Ten years ago today I asked a kind nurse to please shoot me.

Ten years ago today (Darr's favorite) I told Darr "I can't do this".

Ten years ago today I experienced pain that NO human being should have to withstand.....however many have and many more will. Labor without drugs was NOT my idea. The hospital that Chloe was born at was closing.....in just a few days. The anesthesiologist wasn't available.....ever I guess....at least not during my 26 hours of Hell......

10 years ago....

Ten years ago today I went to my scheduled prenatal "check".

Ten years ago today I horrified the nurse and midwife at that "check" with my blood pressure. They asked if I had ran up the 3 flights of stairs. I, feeling great said "NO WAY, I'm "due" today".

Ten years ago today I had lab work done.

Ten years ago today Darr and I went out to dinner for the last time "not being parents".

Ten years ago today the same midwife received some very bad blood work results.

Ten years ago today the same midwife tracked me down by phone and told me to be at the hospital in 30 minutes, that baby HAD to come out.

Ten years ago today I was induced.......

I asked Dillon to get dressed the other day and this is what I found. We'll have to talk about some rules before we go to the library!!!

Happy Birthday Darr....

Friday was Darr's 38th birthday so we had an ice cream cake at Meme and Papa's house today. Dillon blew the candles out which seemed fine then.....now I'm not so sure. As of 7pm he had a fever of 102.6. Poor boy. He's now fast asleep and will hopefully be better in the morning. When Chloe was sick (most likely H1N1 and pneumonia) she had a fever for about 6 days. Dillon however has had the H1N1 vaccine unlike Chloe. So who knows what it is.

Illness update....

Today, Monday, Hannah woke up with a very low grade fever. I gave her ibuprofen and kept her (and Chloe) home from school today with the plan to head to the pediatrician. Chloe has continued to get worse. Fever, cough, sore throat and just feeling terrible.
The diagnosis: Chloe-some type of flu, probably H1N1 and pneumonia
Hannah- a cold
Dillon-NOTHING (he didn't even go to the doctor)
One out of three's not so bad!
So Chloe is on an antibiotic and I'm sure she will bounce back quickly. At her recheck in 2 weeks she will get a H1N1 vaccination. Her dentist appointment for Thursday will have to be canceled until next week. That will make her happy :)
Hannah and Dillon will be getting their H1N1 vaccination on Wednesday.
Parent teacher conferences tomorrow for both girls. At least I know that will be good news.

Halloween 2009....

The Halloween festivities this year started Thursday at preschool. Dillon was a cowboy and REALLY enjoyed his party. They sang Halloween songs, played games, had pictures taken and of course had some sweet treats to eat.

****Chloe was home sick Thursday with a fever and sore throat.****

Friday evening, (****Chloe was better, went to school and was fine****) was the Halloween festival at the girls school. Chloe went off with her friends, playing games and having fun. Hannah and Dillon stayed with us, doing the same. I guess we're not cool enough for Chloe and her friends :) Dillon and Hannah did see some of their friends as well.

Saturday, Halloween day, was quiet except for the pending excitement of trick-or-treating. At dinner time ****Chloe said she wasn't hungry....NOT like Chloe. Shortly after that she was not well at all. She had spiked a fever, was coughing, sneezing and just felt horrible. Poor kid even said she didn't want to go trick-or-treating! ****So Meme came over for about an hour while we took Hannah and Dillon out. They were able to get enough candy for everyone. When we got home Chloe was feeling much better....the ibuprofen had done its job.

Now, Sunday morning she seems fine. We've given her ibuprofen and Tylenol and really expect her to be fine. Our concern is, is it H1N1?? Our friends daughter has it now and I think lots of kids probably do. Especially after the Halloween party at school. Chloe is staying home from school tomorrow to go to the pediatrician to find out what they think and we will go from there. If it is H1N1, then I think she will have to stay home from school for a few days, until she is no longer contagious. Hopefully this passes quickly and doesn't get the rest of us, especially Hannah who has a febrile seizure history. We DO have H1N1 shots/nasal mist scheduled for this week and we have already had flu shots. Hannah has gymnastics starting Monday and Chloe has a dentist appointment on Thursday....if she's not sick. The dentist isn't our usual one because he doesn't PULL TEETH. Yes, poor Chloe has to have 8, yes 8 baby teeth pulled. So Thursday we will be scheduling that.
