Part I:
The first stop was The Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
One thing we learned here was that Dillon probably wouldn't have made it into the country back then. Just kidding. Of course our process of bringing him home to the US was different then times gone by however we did see some similarities. At the musuem we were able to see the process that the immigrants went through in order to come into our county. We saw bunks, sinks, Certificates of Citizenship (which looked very similar to Dillon's COC), columns with writing on them, a funeral bill, luggage, the American Immigrant Wall of Honor and a statue of Annie Moore, the first immigrant, just to name a few things. We were able to see the Statue of Liberty from here, but we did get closer. I'll have more pictures in Part II.
****Just a note about the pictures. Blogger is sometime VERY difficult to work with. Some of my pictures have the edges (and then some) cut off due to the size. I tried to reduce them only to run into more problems. I really hate Blogger sometimes!****
