UNICEF....NOT IN THIS HOUSE

United Nations Childrens Fund - UNICEF - reports that Guatemala has

the worst malnutrition problem in Latin America, even higher than the
35.2 percent average in Africa! Ironically, UNICEF basically forced adoptions in Guatemala to be halted.
In essence, they are saying: Sorry...everyone, leave these babies in Guatemala where they can...... starve. This is extremely sad.PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT UNICEF this Halloween!

Apple picking.....

Friday after school we went apple picking. We usually try to go on a weekday because it is so crowded on the weekends. After picking apples we went and got some apple cider doughnuts. They are so good. This week I plan to make some apple pies and maybe an apple cake.
Guess who didn't want to go?

Chloe's new look

Chloe has a "new" look. On the 10th of September she was told by the eye doctor that she no longer needed to wear her glasses. She has always had good vision, just her eyes were a bit slow focusing. Now they're not :)
On the 14th she finally got braces. I say finally because we've been going to the orthodontist since she was 8!!!! She is just now ready for them. She picked that nice shade of blue rubberbands. As of now there is no wire on the bottom teeth, that will be put in at the end of the month. It has taken some time for her to get used to them, but each day is better. Her best friend Charity also got braces very recently. Misery loves company????

Lake St. Catherine.....

Well, my blog posts are a bit out of order because I got a bit behind.
Back in the beginning of September my friend Theresa and I decided to take our six kids to spend the day at Lake St. Catherine on the beach. Everyone had a great time. If I remember correctly I got there with 3 kids and left with 5??? We had fun :)

The First Day of School 2010....

Well, the first day has come and gone, but I did get pictures on the first day they just didn't make it to the blog until the 3rd day.
Anyway, Chloe is now in 5th grade and seems to have a good start to the year. The trumpet has made its way home and is not as bad as I thought it would be :)
Hannah is now in 3rd grade and like Chloe, it seems to be going well. She is anxiously waiting for soccer to begin.
Dillon is on his second year of preschool. (Hey, we might just go for 3 years of preschool. We'll have to see how this year goes. He's a June baby, so he's kind of young for his grade). He has only been 1 day. The report I got was that he was good for circle time (which is unbelievable, that's usually his time to "shine") but he didn't clean up. I was also told that MOST of the kids wouldn't pick up. So, I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow but expect nothing :)
